Thesis paper feedback
<aside>
đź’ˇ When completing your final draft of your thesis paper, review each of the points listed below. The points are in no particular order.
</aside>
- Manually replace the second title of your paper listed in the table of contents to, “Literature Review”.
- Introduction paragraph: Discuss only the context of the problem after the hook and before transitioning into your thesis statement. The context of the problem should include at least one citation that also supports the problem. See Introduction Paragraph.
- Each body paragraph should follow the The M.E.A.L. Plan: A Comprehensive Approach to Paragraph Development.
- References: Single space within each reference and double space between each reference. Also, review APA Guide. You need at least 10 references, eight of which should come from peer-reviewed journal articles.
- Results and Discussion: Include citations to compare and contrast with what you have in the literature review.
- If any headings extend more than a single line, maintain approximately the same number of words across the page and single space between the two lines.
- Review elements of a Thesis statement and skeleton outline.
- Try to avoid Demonstratives.
- Abbreviations: Spell out the term the first time you mention it, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. Thereafter, continue to abbreviate the term. Do not abbreviate a term if you do not plan to use the term again throughout your text.
- Add a closing statement after the research questions to conclude the transitional paragraph that ends the literature review.
- State that pseudonyms were used (in the participants section of your method section) and then add, “(pseudonym)” after the first time you mention a new name. Avoid using any titles when mentioning a participant’s name… just their name.
- Spell out numbers zero (0) through nine (9). Instead of, “… 9 students”, it’s “… nine students”.
- Abstracts that are close to 250 words will not exceed one page. Your abstract and list of key words should not exceed one page.
- Single space codebook.
- I would avoid citations in the abstract unless you are referencing a problem towards the beginning of the 250-word paragraph.
