Instructor:

Course start/ending date: January 25, 2021 - June 4, 2021 (Enrolled learners schedule a 30-minute tutoring session each week.)

Online Class Schedule (15 hours per week): Monday: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM; Tuesday: 8:00 AM-9:00 AM & 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM; Wednesday: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM; Thursday: 8:00 AM-11:00 AM; Friday: 8:00 AM-10:00 AM

📜 Description

Thesis Seminar is a theoretical and practical course designed to apply the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values learned throughout the BA curriculum by developing an integrated research project relevant to the teaching of English as an additional language. All prior subjects from the curriculum act as precedents to this subject.

📜 Objective

Throughout the course, the student will develop an investigation relevant to the teaching of the English language, integrating knowledge and skills with autonomy and constructive and proactive criticism with social and ethical responsibility.

📜 Delivery

This course meets online via whole-group discussions and one-to-one tutoring sessions using Microsoft Teams. The scheduled online discussions for the Spring 2021 semester are as follows: January 25-29, 2021 (topic review, research questions, problem statement, etc.); February 26, 2021 (method and data analysis); April 16, 2021 (results and discussion); and May 21, 2021 (oral defense). An attempt is made to record each whole-group online discussions and recordings are made available within the calendar view found below. Class files not shared (publicly) within Notion and breakout rooms will all be hosted in Microsoft Teams (sharepoint).
