Midterm Project

<aside> 💡 Part A: A 10-minute video presentation on any combination of topics from Unit I. Creativity, fluency, pronunciation, cohesion, and use of language will be evaluated.

Part B: Expository Essay (5 paragraphs) on any combination of topics from Unit I: introduction, supporting details, conclusion, organization, cohesion, coherence, use of English, and APA will be evaluated.

Tasks

• All tasks for completing this midterm project will be included in the following lessons: CAE I Week 7 lessons & CAE I Week 8 lessons.
• Part B: Complete a thesis statement and skeleton outline for in https://eduuaa.sharepoint.com/:f:/s/CAEI/EtXm-hmqFUZAldjpsQFNrAcBgYgbuaXa2vc0yMutse-Hzw?e=qREZOi and then submit the four sentence-assignment to the Teams assignment: 1) thesis statement (i.e., a transition, topic, main claim, connector “because”, and three key points (reasons); and three topic sentences that later will begin each body paragraph. Part A - Video

• [ ] 10 minute video is to be completed individually.
• [ ] Notes may be used, but avoid reading strings of text when presenting.
• [ ] Video should have an introduction, body, and conclusion based on a topic previously seen in class: sports & health, technology, food & cooking, travel & tourism, daily routines, hobbies & interests.
• [ ] Presentation should be well organized: compare and contrast, problem-solution, cause and effect, process, etc.
• [ ] Video should show you speaking and include a slideshow: Microsoft Teams Video (my recommendation), Canva, PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.
• [ ] APA for citing and referencing should be used if any text found in the presentation that comes from an outside source.
• [ ] Presenter’s face should be shown within the frame of the video.
• [ ] Presentation should include a visually appealing slide show: not a lot of text, some visuals, etc.
• [ ] Ideas should flow from one to another.
• [ ] Voice should be easily heard.
• [ ] Standard English should be used (i.e., proper grammar, mechanics (text from presentation)
