ANGLICA. An International Journal of English Studies is an open-access, annual, peer-reviewed journal in literary, cultural and linguistic studies published since 1988 under the auspices of the Institute of English Studies, University of Warsaw.
The journal is indexed in SCOPUS, DOAJ, CEEOL, MLA, BazHum, EBSCO, MIAR, Index Copernicus, ERIHPLUS, Sherpa Romeo, and included in the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers.
ANGLICA: An International Journal of English Studies aims to offer interdisciplinary discussions on Anglophone literatures, cultures, and languages within the context of the emerging new methodologies of analysis.

So as to facilitate more focused discussions, beginning with our planned 2024 publication, we will be moving to THEMATIC ISSUES as our predominant publication policy. The CFP for both the literature/culture and the linguistics/translation studies issues will be circulated in January every year, the deadline for complete papers is the end of October the same year.

We accept proposals for thematic issues within Anglophone literary, cultural, and linguistic studies. When submitting such a proposal, please follow our guidelines for Guest Editors.
For the thematic issues on literature/culture the editors invite proposals within the areas of English, Irish, Welsh, Scottish, American, Canadian, Australian literature, theatre, film, the arts, the media, history, cultural studies, and social studies. We welcome submissions offering innovative perspectives including - but not limited to - genre studies, gender studies, memory and trauma studies, affect theory, ecocriticism, posthumanism and geocriticism. For the thematic issues on linguistics and translation studies, the editors invite contributions in various aspects of the synchrony and diachrony of English or/and its varieties, sociolinguistics, language contact, translation studies as well as articles comparing and contrasting English with other languages.
We also accept reviews of recently published academic studies (monographs and edited volumes) within the field of Anglophone studies.
